67Th anniversary of the birth of Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, was Saturday in the city celebrated, than anywhere else in the country with lavish programmes, BSS reports.
In celebration of the birthday of the PM, who is now at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York garlanded Central leader of the AL and the U.S. Unit of the party her extensively in their Grand Hyatt hotel-suite, wanting that her longevity and success in politics.
Marking the day, special prayers were offered and Milad Mahfils organized in the various mosques including the Baitul Mukarram National mosque after Zohr asked. Special prayers were offered at Dhakeshwari national Temple and other places of worship, including the churches and pagodas at noon.
In the programmes of Central Dhaka City Awami League (AL) organized a Milad and Dua Mahfil and a discussion in the party headquarters of Bangabandhu Avenue in the town in the afternoon looking for divine blessings for long life and success of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Cooked food was distributed also among the inmates of various orphanages.
Awami League joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Dhaka City AL President MA Aziz, General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram) or Joint Secretary advocate Quamrul Islam attended the program, among other things.
Milad Ganobhaban held
In the meantime, a Milad Mahfil on Ganobhaban that official residence of the Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, after ASR Saturday her 67th birthday held prayers BSS reported.
